Ohafia, Abia State – The Ohafia Traditional Rulers Council concluded its election of new executive officers during their monthly statutory meeting on Saturday, 2nd December 2025.
The newly elected officials will assume office on 1st January 2026 and steer the council’s affairs for the next three years in line with bye laws of the Council.
New Executive Officers:
HRH Eze O. K. Osonwa – Chairman
HRH Eze Igwe Ojike (MON) – Deputy Chairman
HRH Eze Elder Dr. Ezera Uduma Ezera – Secretary
HRH Eze Elder O. K. Obuma – Assistant Secretary
HRH Eze Elder Dr. S. O. A. Ukweni – Treasurer
HRH Eze Evang. Uche Ibe – Financial Secretary
HRH Eze Engr. Ndukwe Iko – Public Relations Officer (PRO)
In his farewell address, the current cum outgoing Chairman of Ohafia Traditional Rulers Council, HRM (Eze) U. K. Ukoha, expressed gratitude to the council members for their support during his tenure. “It has been an honor serving as Chairman of this esteemed council. I wish the new executive officers success in their tenure and pledge my continued support to the council.”
The newly elected executive officers are expected to build on the achievements of their predecessors and tackle emerging challenges facing the Ohafia Traditional Rulers Council. Their tenure will focus on promoting unity, development, and the cultural heritage of Ohafia.
HRH Eze O. K. Osonwa is a respected traditional ruler in Ohafia, known for his commitment to community development. He succeeds HRM (Eze) U. K. Ukoha as Chairman of Ohafia Traditional Rulers Council.
