Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor has warmly received Hon. Jasper Uche into the fast-growing OTTIMEMIA Movement, describing his decision as a bold and patriotic step toward advancing good governance in Abia State.
In his remarks, Ambassador Offor commended Hon. Uche for aligning with a movement driven by the vision of sustainable development and people-oriented leadership. He noted that the collective task of moving Abia forward requires unity of purpose and commitment from well-meaning leaders, especially under the able stewardship of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. According to him, Hon. Uche’s decision reflects a deep sense of responsibility and dedication to the progress of the state.
Following his commendation, Ambassador Offor highlighted the strong political pedigree and leadership experience that Hon. Jasper Uche brings into the OTTIMEMIA Movement.
From serving as SUG President during his university days, Hon. Uche rose and began his political and public service journey at the National Assembly, Abuja, where he served as a Legislative Assistant to the late Senator Uche Chukwumerije. In that role, he was actively involved in legislative processes, constituency project monitoring, policy drafting, and documentation of legislative achievements.
His commitment to governance and public service earned him several appointments in Abia State. In 2007, he was appointed Special Adviser on Sports, where he contributed to the state’s representation in continental engagements, including participation alongside Enyimba Football Club during CAF competitions. He was subsequently reappointed as Senior Special Assistant on Students Affairs, serving as a vital link between the state government and student bodies across Abia’s tertiary institutions.
Further demonstrating his administrative capacity, Hon. Uche also served as Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, handling strategic interventions and media-related engagements for the government. In 2010, he was appointed Transition Committee Chairman of Umunneochi Local Government Area, a position he held with distinction and was reappointed in 2014, serving until February 2016.
During his tenure as Local Government Chairman, he implemented impactful initiatives including the construction of a Library and ICT Centre at the council headquarters, renovation of public schools, facilitation of youth and women empowerment programs, and provision of critical infrastructure such as electricity and water projects. He also pioneered street naming in the urban areas of the LGA and provided leadership during the 2015 general elections.
Hon. Uche later emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governorship Candidate for Abia State in the 2023 general elections, further solidifying his place in the state’s political landscape.
Ambassador Offor concluded that with such a rich background in governance, administration, and grassroots leadership, Hon. Jasper Uche’s entry into the OTTIMEMIA Movement is a significant boost that will strengthen the collective drive toward a better and more prosperous Abia State.
